St. Paul's Church is in the village of Mela Ilandaikulam, in the Tirunelveli diocese, and was founded on 28 December 1903. The churches of Manur and Erandum Sollan come under it. After 2005 the villagers began work on a church tower, which was opened on 20 May 2007.
The tower is 50.4 metres high and 10.3 metres wide and houses a large bell, rung when fire breaks out and for weddings and funerals. A seven-day festival begins every year on 20 May, starting with a day of prayer and worship, followed by a gospel meeting and art shows by schoolchildren, with festivities at night. Many people who have left the village come back for it.
