The story

Siddha Bhairavi Temple is at Mantridi in Ganjam district, Odisha, on National Highway 16 about 18 km from Berhampur, whose railway station is the nearest railhead. Its presiding goddess is Bhairavi, whose roughly carved image has one leg and four hands. The idol is said to have been dug out of a ploughed field, and it was installed, unaltered, in a new temple in 1937.

The complex holds 108 smaller shrines to deities venerated across India, from the twelve jyotirlingas and Vaishno Devi to the Dashavatara, Venkateswara, Ranganatha, Meenakshi and Badrinath, along with a large shrine to Jagannath and his siblings. Tuesdays and the Sankranti day of each month are considered auspicious. Devotees believe that at the end of the Kali Yuga the goddess will help the Kalki avatar restore dharma.
