The Saptakoteshwar Temple at Narve is dedicated to Shiva and counted among the major Shiva shrines of the Konkan. It is linked to the Kadamba dynasty, whose gold coins invoked Lord Saptakotishwara. Its linga was dug up during Bahmani rule, the shrine was restored by the Vijayanagara king Harihara, and the Portuguese later built a chapel on the site and used the linga as a well shaft. Local people moved it to Bicholim, and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj built the present temple.
The yellow and white building has a European-style hall and a high lamp tower, or deepastambha. The complex also holds an image of Kalbhairav, padukas of Dattatreya carved in stone, two large laterite pillars, a tunnel-like passage and a sacred tank called Panchaganga Tirtha.
