The story
RKCS Art Gallery and Museum, also called the RKCS Museum of Art and Craft, is a permanent home for the original works of Rajkumar Chandrajitsana Singh, a well-known Manipuri painter who goes by the initials RKCS. Through his paintings, the collection traces the history, culture and traditions of Manipur.
Besides historical events and folklore, the works on show take in daily life and social themes, presented as installations, contemporary pieces, miniature portraits, paintings on waste boxes and bottle art. The range extends to vintage film posters for Hollywood, Bollywood and Manipuri cinema.
