The story

Also known as Puducherry Science Park, the Puducherry Science Centre & Planetarium stands at Lawspet in Puducherry. The National Council of Science Museums designed, built and set it up, with the Government of India and the Government of Puducherry sharing the cost; the digital planetarium was paid for by the territory alone. The campus covers 3 acres.

Inside, a marine life gallery is divided into five sections, from marine ecology and diversity to threats to the sea and marine tourism, and a Fun Science gallery lets visitors try out science for themselves. Staff at the Science Demonstration Corner run live experiments for groups and students, and a Children's Corner offers simple experiments for younger visitors. Outdoors, a 1-acre science park holds interactive exhibits, while the digital planetarium recreates a moving sky to explain astronomy.
