Prospect Hill is a hill in Shimla with trails winding through forest and open slopes up to a summit that looks across snowy peaks, valleys and woodland. Its main shrine is a temple to the Hindu goddess Kamna Devi, believed to grant wishes, which draws large crowds from the city during Navratri.
Local legend says the sage Rishi Bhrigu once lived and meditated in the caves and forests here. In the British period the hill was a place where officers and officials escaped the summer heat of the plains, and colonial-era bungalows, churches and other buildings remain on its slopes.
