The story

Panchasara Parshwanath Jain Derasar is among the most honoured of the more than one hundred Jain temples in Patan, a city where the Jain community was influential in the Solanki period. The temple measures about 180 feet long and 90 feet wide, and its sanctum holds a white marble image of Bhagwan Panchasara Parshwanath.

The first shrine is said to have been built of wood. After it was damaged during invasions, devotees and patrons rebuilt it in stone, and later restorations kept it standing. Carved domes, sculpted pillars, decorated ceilings and ornate mandaps show the detailed stonework typical of Jain temples, and the prayer hall remains in active use for worship.
