The story

Padubidri Beach lies on the coast at Padubidri in Udupi district, around 24 km from Udupi and 50 km from Mangalore International Airport. Padubidri has its own railway station, and buses and taxis run from Udupi and Mangaluru. The beach has golden sand and quiet water, backed by green surroundings.

It is among the few Indian beaches to hold Blue Flag certification from the Foundation for Environmental Education in Denmark, which sets standards for water quality, safety, environmental education and waste management. Plastic-free zones, solar lighting, waste systems and regular clean-up drives help keep it in order. The dry months from October to May are considered the best time to come, with mild weather and a calm sea.
