Nirjuli Town Baptist Church

Nirjuli Town Baptist Church serves a Baptist congregation about 33 km from Itanagar in Papum Pare district. It was set up by local Baptists who wanted a place for worship and shared spiritual guidance, and it now runs Bible study groups, fellowship meetings, retreats, Sunday school, literacy classes and vocational training.

The building follows Gothic lines, with pointed arches and ribbed vaults inside and a plain facade topped by a single cross. The bright, high-ceilinged hall has walls hung with Bible verses and pieces of local art and craft, a wooden cross above the altar and a pool used for baptism. Its stained glass includes a rose window patterned on the petals of a flower, which in Christian tradition stands for divine light.
