Nicco Park

Nicco Park is an amusement park in Salt Lake (Bidhannagar), on the eastern side of Kolkata, and has entertained families since it opened in 1991. Its landscaped grounds are planted with trees and flower beds, and small models of city landmarks such as the Victoria Memorial and Howrah Bridge are placed around the park.

Rides cover a wide range. Gentler options include a merry-go-round and a toy train that loops through the gardens, while roller coasters, a giant wheel and a go-kart track suit older visitors. Among the water rides are the Water Chute, which drops boats down a steep slope into a pool, and the River Cave, a slow boat trip through lit tunnels and artificial falls.

A separate water park adds slides, splash pools and a rain-dance area. Younger children have their own zone with bumper cars, the Magic Roundabout and a play area. Food stalls serve Kolkata snacks like kathi rolls, puchka and biryani, and there are also multi-cuisine restaurants.
