The story

Nehru Kund is a natural spring roughly 6 km out of Manali, beside the highway that heads north to Leh. It carries the name of Jawaharlal Nehru, India's first Prime Minister, who is said to have drunk from it whenever he came to Manali.

The water begins as snowmelt at Bhrigu Lake higher up, seeps through the ground and surfaces here, which keeps it clear and cold. The path to the spring runs through thick forest, and the plants and mountain views around it make the spot popular with walkers and photographers.
