01 — The story

The story

Mayapuri Wonder Wax Museum is a small wax museum inside the Baywatch amusement park at Kanniyakumari, open since 2005. It follows the London style of waxworks on a modest scale and is especially popular with children and families.

The figures cover historical leaders, Indian and foreign film actors, politicians and sportspeople. Among them are Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa and Indira Gandhi, along with Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Manmohan Singh, Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jackie Chan. A section of 3D paintings adds a further attraction. A visit fits easily into a day that also takes in the beach, the Gandhi Memorial and the Vivekananda Rock Memorial.
