The Loganatha Perumal Temple lies 2 km from Sikkal on the Tiruvarur–Nagapattinam highway and is one of the 108 Divya Desams, sung by Tirumalisai Alvar. Vishnu is worshipped as Loganatha Perumal and Lakshmi as Loganayagi, and the temple is one of the five Pancha Kanna (Krishnaranya) Kshetrams. Legend tells that Krishna, as a child, ate the butter image the sage Vasishtha was worshipping and ran here, where sages doing penance bound him with their devotion and asked him to stay and show himself to devotees.
Thought to be a late 9th-century work of the Medieval Cholas, with later Vijayanagara and Nayak work, the temple sits within a granite wall and is entered through a five-tier rajagopuram, with its tank just outside. The sanctum, reached through the Mukha and Ardha mandapas, holds an imposing image of Loganathar. Six rituals are held daily, and Panguni Brahmotsavam is the main festival.
