The story

Langshiang Falls, locally known as Kshaid Ur-Nar, is on the Kynshi River near Sangriang village, about 24 km from Nongstoin in West Khasi Hills; Mawpon village also has a view of it. Its height is usually given as about 337 metres, though that figure has not been confirmed. It is among the highest and largest waterfalls in Meghalaya.

Upstream, the river runs through a valley into a pool called Wei Spi, ringed by huge cliffs, before turning into a deep gorge where it makes the great plunge. Two smaller falls, Kshaid Chong and Wei Spi, lie close to the pool. The walk from Sangriang takes about thirty minutes, and the viewpoint looks across green, rolling hills dotted with hamlets.
