Kyagar Tso is a small lake of brackish water ringed by mountains on the Changthang plateau of Ladakh, at an elevation of about 4,705 metres. Its turquoise colour makes it easy to pick out from a distance. It lies in the Salt Valley, named for the salt plains around this lake and Tso Moriri, with the Puga valley immediately to the north and the Kyago La, also called Namshang La, to the north-east. Some bird species are found in the area.
The lake is reached on the Miroo–Puga–Sumdo–Mahe road, which leaves NH-3 at Miroo and joins the Leh–Nyoma road at Mahe; from Sumdo, 20 km to the north, the 40 km Sumdo–Kyagar Tso–Karzok road passes the lake, with Karzok on Tso Moriri some 10 to 15 km to the south.
