The story

Kunnathu Sri Mahadeva Temple is at Kudappanakunnu in Thiruvananthapuram, near the Civil Station on the Peroorkada–Mannanthala road. Shiva is the presiding deity, facing east, and tradition counts the temple among Kerala's 108 Shiva temples, with an idol said to have been placed by Parasurama.

Ganapathy and Vasuki, the serpent, are also worshipped here. The old shrine and its surroundings have been marred by crude newer construction. The annual festival takes place in the Malayalam month of Dhanu, in December and January.
