The story

Kunderipallam Dam is at Kongarpalayam in Gobichettipalayam taluk, Erode district, within the southern reaches of a thickly forested hill area. Built between 1975 and 1980, it stands 42 feet high and holds back wild streams where Kadambur Hill meets a neighbouring hill. It is a small dam, and it mainly supports farming by raising the groundwater level rather than through canals.

Steep, jungle-covered hills rise on both the east and west sides of the reservoir, with a wide range of wild plants and animals. The wide variety of fish and birds found here, some of them rare, is said to make the dam worth a visit.
