Khuthbapalli, also called the Jamia Mosque or Kuthba Mosque, is a Sunni Friday mosque in Pondicherry; its name refers to the khutbah, the Friday sermon. It is claimed to be the oldest mosque in the town. A Dutch map of 1693 shows two mosques inside Pondicherry's fort, thought to be Khuthbapalli and Meerapalli, and Khuthbapalli remained on the west side of White Town until 1761, when the English destroyed that quarter. The present building dates from the 18th century. Under Governor Dupleix one of the town's streets was known as Rue de la Mosquée, Mosque Street.
Its architecture mixes Indo-Islamic and Indo-French elements, with minarets, domes and a pond that give it a calm setting. Inside is the dargah of Moulla Saiullbum. The mosque holds the regular daily prayers as well as Friday congregation, and serves as the local centre of the Tablighi Jamaat.
