The story

Jagatsukh is a village about 6 km from Manali, with the Deo Tibba mountains rising to its east and the Manali valley below. Its name joins the Hindi words for world and happiness. Under its older name, Nast, it served as the capital for more than ten generations.

Old temples and sacred sites are scattered through the village, which is rich in myth and folklore. The Chacholi Jatra festival draws devotees here, and the Gaurishankar Temple has a design that recalls the Naresar Group of Temples.
