Gaiety Heritage Cultural Complex

The Gaiety Heritage Cultural Complex is a late 19th-century building in Shimla that served as the town's hub for theatre, social meetings and other cultural events when the hill station was at the peak of its colonial life. Its Victorian Gothic design shows in the decorated outer walls and the formal, richly finished interiors.

The centrepiece is the historic Gaiety Theatre, still known for its ornate auditorium and stage performances. Galleries and performance spaces around it hold items tied to the town's past, among them antique furniture, period costumes, old photographs, paintings and sculptures, which together trace Shimla's social and artistic history.
