Chausath Yogini Temple, Khajuraho

The Chausath Yogini Temple is a small temple in Khajuraho, standing just beside the Western Group, the temples for which the town is best known. It is easy to miss: on the walk from the airport road toward the Western Group, past the Gold Tulip, an unremarkable-looking gate leads to it.

The path to the temple runs beside a pond on the right, where water lilies and lotuses grow. Little egrets, pond herons and grey herons are often seen standing among the plants as they hunt for food.
