The story

Bharwain is a hill station and village in Amb tehsil of Una district, Himachal Pradesh, in the Chintpurni area, at an altitude of roughly 1,000 metres. It sits on the Hoshiarpur–Dharamshala state highway, about 2 km from the Chintpurni temple, one of the Shakta pithas, and serves as an entry point for pilgrims heading there. Kangra district borders it to the north.

The area lies between the western Himalayas to the north and the Shivalik range along the Punjab border. Temperatures usually run 5 to 8 °C below those of the plains of Punjab, Haryana and Delhi, and the climate is pleasant through the year, though August to March is considered the best time to visit. Bharwain is also a sub-tehsil of the Amb block and the seat of a PWD circle covering many blocks of Una district.
