Bedni Bugyal is a Himalayan alpine meadow at 3,354 metres in Chamoli district, near Wan village on the route to Roopkund. Trisul and Nanda Ghunti are clearly visible, the grassland is bright with many kinds of flowers, among them the Brahma Kamal, and the small lake of Bedni Kund, or Vaitarani, lies in its midst. The glacial lake of Roopkund is about 12 kilometres away.
The meadow is an important halt on the Nanda Devi Raj Jat. By Bedni Kund stand an old temple of the goddess Nanda Devi, a small shrine of the local deity Latu and other carved shrines. The smaller yearly pilgrimage ends here, while the grand twelve-yearly one goes on to Homkund; during the pilgrimage devotees offer pindas to their ancestors, bathe in the lake and gather for a fair. Getting there means a hike of about 20 kilometres from Lohajung, crossing the Neel Ganga and passing Didna village and Aali Bugyal, or a shorter, steeper climb from Wan.
