The story

Aintharuvi, whose name means 'five falls', is a cluster of five cascades in Tenkasi district, close to the Courtallam Falls of Tamil Nadu.

The water spills out in five separate directions, and because the streams resemble the hoods of a five-headed cobra, the falls are compared to Adisesha, the sacred serpent of Hindu tradition. Two temples stand nearby, one to Swami Ayyappa and the other to Lord Vinayaka.
